We redefine purpose-driven brands with a climate-focused approach.

Yonis is the flexible, micro-sized brand studio of Lukas Yonis Abubeker. He is a strategy-led multidisciplinary designer who collaborates directly with clients and supports brand agencies on a freelance basis while living in Barcelona, Spain.

He also writes critical essays about the design industry, the Earth Crisis, and the cultural worldview designers need to develop for the 21st Century.
design for evolution

Design shapes culture—but for decades, the culture it shaped has been individualist and consumer-centric. These ideas have reached their end-of-life.

Our actions and values on individual, communal, and corporate levels must evolve to respect planetary boundaries and create solutions that draw us together, not apart.

We need to design for the 21st century.
We need to ask new questions.

business

How can we prioritize goals and mindsets that make sustainability a natural choice?

Which side effects are being ignored that could be leveraged for social change?

How can businesses meet needs without monopolizing shared resources?

brand

How can we require, reward, or promote collaboration instead of competition?

How can we be sure people are enabled, rather than hooked, by our work?

How can we make maintenance and longevity desirable?

production

How can design solutions be shared, reused, or circulated within a community?

How can we meet needs without physically producing anything?

How can we leverage aesthetics to extend the lifespan of products and services?

design for society

We develop projects side-by-side through conversations, workshops, and creative focus sessions. There are no project managers, so nothing is lost in translation.

working with purpose-driven companies, we:

Help founders evolve their businesses deliberately.
Counter speculative housing markets.
Promote biodiversity recovery.
Improve social cohesion.

Avoiding profit-driven companies, we don’t:

Greenwash unsustainable promises.
Postpone necessary sustainability initiatives.
Focus on trendy aesthetics instead of real solutions.
Survive on hype, desire, or exploitation.
